All plans for new development of water and wastewater infrastructure within Augusta Water’s jurisdiction are to be submitted to the Augusta County Community Development Department in accordance with its applicable procedures and the latest version of Augusta Water’s Design & Construction Standards. Packages submitted to the Community Development Department shall include the forms listed below. Review of the plans will not begin until all necessary items in the checklist have been received. All applicable fees shall be paid prior to plan approval.

Plans shall adhere to Augusta Water’s Design & Construction Standards and Approved Products List . If a plan is not approved, subsequent plans must be submitted to the Community Development Department, following the same procedures. For additional information and rules regarding the Plan Submittal Process, please see the Design & Construction Standards  and Section 10.6  of the Operating Procedures and Policy Manual.

Some projects may require the review and approval of the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) and/or the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) in accordance with Augusta Water’s Memorandums of Understanding. In this case, the Developer/Owner will be notified upon the completion of Augusta Water’s review if the plans must be submitted to the VDH and/or the DEQ. Once these agencies have given written approval, Augusta Water will then issue an approval letter, with a copy sent to the Augusta County Community Development Department. Additional state agency reviews may be required. It should be noted, each agency has specific requirements for their plan review procedures.
